Our Story
Frisco Montessori School opened its doors with five classrooms: two Pre-Primary classrooms, and three Primary classrooms. The facility included a computer room and two playgrounds. Enrollment upon opening was forty children, two through six years of age. By the end of May 1998, enrollment climbed to over 100 students.
In August 1999, Frisco Montessori School received its AMS Affiliation. The school expanded to house an additional Pre-Primary classroom, two additional Primary classrooms and a Lower Elementary classroom. The expansion also included a Music/Drama classroom, a Spanish classroom, a Library area, and a third playground. Accessible from each classroom is one of three state-of-the-art fenced playgrounds and shaded picnic areas.
By the fall of 1999, Frisco Montessori School was recognized as one of the Small Business Success Stories over the last ten years by the Small Business Development Center of Collin County.
In the winter of 2002, a gazebo and an “outside classroom” were added inside the “Children’s Garden” for Nature Study.
In the fall of 2003, Frisco Montessori School’s Elementary Program expanded to include two Lower Elementary classrooms and one Upper Elementary classroom educating children through the fifth grade. The building expansion also incorporated a multi-purpose, half-court gymnasium.
During the summer of 2007, Frisco Montessori School proudly announced the addition of an Art Classroom and another Upper Elementary classroom. This expansion increased the number of classrooms to include two Pre-Primary classes, five Primary classes, two Lower Elementary classes, and two Upper Elementary classes.
In the fall of 2015, Frisco Montessori School opened its Middle School which includes sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
Frisco Montessori School celebrated its 20th Year Anniversary in January 2018. For over twenty years, FMA has been dedicated to provide children with a superior education together with a love of learning. FMA remains committed to continue to offer each student a solid foundation and the tools to build a future measured in achievements and success.
In January 2022,Frisco Montessori School was acquired in an expansion to bring more resources to the school and usher the program into the 21th century with Digital Education, STEM Lab and Life Skills. Future goals include growth into High School grades 9 through 12 and Summer Camps and Foreign Language Addition.
